Review & Description

As part of Fenders Tele-Bration, commemorating 60 years of Telecasters, Fender has launched a special run of 12 Telecaster models; each with its own distinguishing characteristics. The Old Growth Redwood Telecaster body is carved from 100 year old redwood timbers. The more-than-a-century-old wood has an elegant hand-rubbed oil finish. The oil finish and the aged redwood will give the Old Growth Telecaster a resonance youll even be able to hear unamplified. The Old Growth Redwood Telecaster sports a one-piece maple neck with a 9.5 radius and 21 medium frets to facilitate effortless string-bending. The necks profile is a thick U-shape which is employed on their Hot Rod guitars. In keeping with the 60-year Telecaster tradition, the Old Growth Redwood Telecaster boasts the tried and true dual vintage-style single coil pickup configuration; accompanied by a 3-way selector. Finally, this special edition Telecaster comes in an early 1960s style brown tolex covered hardshell case. This special edition Telecaster is destined to become an instant collectible classic.
